A new patch for the PC version of Tomb Raider addresses stability and start-up issues, and tweaks to TressFX hair rendering. Those problems were the most prominent complaints last week, when Nvidia offered an apology.

The patch notes specifically mention Nvidia and Intel graphics cards among its myriad of fixes. Others include a fix to the beach-boat area halting progress, various graphical glitches including one centered on exclusive fullscreen, and separate mouse/gamepad inversion aiming. It notes only "some small improvements" to the TressFX hair rendering, so Lara's locks probably still won't pass for a shampoo commercial. Then again, it is caked with blood most of the time.

Don't think they've fixed the tessellation bugs yet, so either do the Hitman profile trick or play without tessellation.

At the first camp, tell Lara to shave her muff and there will be much less hair to animate.

I start out just fine; minor FPS loss, but at random, the game will do the same to me as it does to you, and just come to a crawl. All input is severely lagged as well, and at that point I'm thanful for the ALT+F4 option provided by PC gaming

AMD beat them to the punch, so thats why NV and Intel are having issues.

Yeah, more like "This is for Rage's launch on the BF3 drivers!"

Even though i'm using 680s and am waiting to play, it's hilarious to see shoe on the other foot. Nvidia has done this kind of shit to AMD for a while, blocking them from exclusive TWIMTBP games.

I don't think AMD did anything cynical, but launches like this will probably be more common since AMD has a foothold on all of the upcoming consoles.

It just gives me more reason to wait to get games on sale. I have a 660 and will never go back to AMD.

Finished the story this weekend. Had a great time with only a few small gripes.
