The company detailed the change in a blog post and an email to subscribers. The move is an effort to decrease the likelihood of account hacks and takeovers, especially with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel digital expansion coming in the near future.

Although the change won't take effect until next month, BioWare is urging players to start logging in using the new system as soon as possible.

Why? Using your email as the username is insecure.

You're fooling no one. Servers are extremely lively.

There are only 3 servers per region now. But yes, they are very lively!

Yeah I've heard from EA pals that it's doing pretty well since the F2P (after they made the model less shitty)

I subscribe but only because for £9 a month, it would be rude not to :P I also speak from the perspective of a 26 year old man who has a job.

I understand that F2P would be ideal if you weren't in a position to pay out.

Its been a month since I logged in, and several instances were actually over filled most of the time. I know it sounds anti-social for an social game, but I actually switched instances to an almost empty one to finish a few "fetch" quests. Check the instance you are on, you could be on a low pop one.

Did you miss the part where the game went F2P?
