Star Wars: The Old Republic changing login procedure
by John Keefer, Mar 07, 2013 1:00am PSTIn an effort to upgrade security, BioWare is changing the way that players will be able to login to their account for Star Wars: The Old Republic. As of April 2, instead of using your email address to access your characters, you will need to login with your screen name instead.
The company detailed the change in a blog post and an email to subscribers. The move is an effort to decrease the likelihood of account hacks and takeovers, especially with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel digital expansion coming in the near future.
Although the change won't take effect until next month, BioWare is urging players to start logging in using the new system as soon as possible.
