Weekend Confirmed 154 - PlayStation 4, Revengeance and Assassin's Creed 4
by Ozzie Mejia, Mar 01, 2013 11:00am PSTWith Jeff Cannata still in Barcelona, Garnett Lee is joined this week by Xav De Matos and Andrea Rene. They bring the PlayStation 4 conversation to its conclusion with some final thoughts on last week's presentation event. That's followed by thoughts on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Crysis 3, and some early thoughts on this week's Assassin's Creed 4 news. And as always, a new round of Finishing Moves will ring in the weekend.

DevSword had it right though when he said that the PC isn't the "premium" platform. It's the non-standard platform. The open platform for people who want control over the games they buy, in a world where consoles are offering less and less of that control.
For instance, on your "if something goes wrong" comment, those kinds of problems are affecting console games more and more these days: glitchy products, bureaucracy holding up patches, defective consoles. At least with the PC version you can actually try to fix the game yourself most of the time with a hotfix, or expect the patch to arrive faster because the developer doesn't have to go through Sony's and Microsoft's certification (hopefully that changes with next gen consoles). And in my experience PC communities haven't been hostile at all to people asking for help. Like anything else, it depends on where you go.
