Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix's contents are about as confusing as its title. It offers HD-ified versions of the original Kingdom Hearts' Final Mix (an expanded edition which only came out in Japan) and of Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories (the PlayStation 2 remake of Game Boy Advance title Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories). It also includes HD versions of cinematics from the Nintendo DS instalment 358/2 Days, but not the game itself. Okay, sure.

Conspicuously absent from this package is Kingdom Hearts 2. Asked whether we'd see an HD version of the PS2 sequel, series director Tetsuya Nomura responded, "it'd be unusual if there wasn't." Consider yourselves teased.

I find it incredibly strange that we've gone an entire generation and square enix has yet to say anything about KH3. It seems like such a popular brand for them that you'd think they would have made the project a priority.

Lots of side games on portables but no mainline sequel.

I agree with you, very strange indeed. But then Square Enix has been a very strange company in this generation, so who knows. Maybe with the PS4 they will work on it, and of course the question has to be could there be a Star Wars version within KH3? Maybe a flight to the deathstar or something?
