One can guess at special Wii U GamePad functions it'll have, but the confirmation itself is the only solid detail we have. The announcement merely listed Wii U as a platform, alongside PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PS3. It'll be a PS4 launch title this holiday season. Doubtless it'll be coming to Microsoft's new console too, whenever that's announced.

Watch Dogs stars a vigilante in super-connected society, hacking into everything from bank accounts and security cameras to road barriers and trains in his mission to stop naughty men from being naughty. It's okay when he steals money, though. Here's the demo Ubisoft showed last night:

I don't know if it is news no or not but I saw an article that said it is also confirmed for PC so I'm happy.

Very good news. But I wonder if I can build a PC for $600 in November that can outperform the PS4.

Alright that's great news, I don't want to have to buy a console to play that game.

Ubi seems to be the only friend the Wii U has.

It's a good friend to have, but it's interesting we heard nothing from EA last night either, wonder if they're in bed with MS atm? Actiivision still views Nintendo as kids only at this point I think, it will see Skylanders but I'm not sure if it will have much in the way of other 3rd party titles. That being said, given the cost of making these next-gen games the likelihood of them being released not just cross-platform but cross generation means a Wii U version might not be out of the question.

A little portable hacking interface via the Wii U tablet would be cool.

TBH I'm probably just getting this on PC, but I'm happy for Nintendo. I'm sure whatever they do with the GamePad will be cool.

And hey, maybe such a cutting edge game coming to the system will shut up the Wii U haters for a few minutes. I can only hope.

well, it won't be cutting-edge on that platform.

Of course not, it will only be cutting edge on PC! And maybe PS4. But it'll be more cutting edge on Wii U than on Ninty haters' precious Xbox 360s and PS3s, that's for sure.
