Capcom's Yoshinori Ono took the stage during Sony's PlayStation 4 event in New York to unveil a new engine codenamed Panta Rei, a next-gen extension of the company's existing MT Framework tech. The first game revealed is a new IP with the working title of Deep Down.

A trailer, which didn't look real-time, had a Demon Souls vibe to it, and showed an armored warrior going against a rather large dragon. The game will offer some sort of social integration where you will be able to invite friends to help on raids.

"You have no idea how badly I wanted to tweet about it," Ono-san said about the game before introducing the trailer.

Getting a Dragon's Dogma vibe from that as well, which I loved.

"A trailer, which didn't look real-time". Realy?!?! I thought it did. You can see the on screen hud at times. Unless they're pulling a "Killzone" on us. I was actually pretty impressed.

Was definitely real time during some elements. It could be more like an Asuras Wrath type style too.

I dont think the hud was real, but there were some artifacts and pixel crawling that gave it away as not prerendered.

To me there are parts which look real time and parts which didn't, the most impressive of course being pre-rendered but not by much.

This game looks incredible. If rendered real time that is. I hope it's like Dark Souls

That's the first next-gen-looking game I've seen yet.
