A little robot will be one of the first new characters for Sony's just unveiled PlayStation 4 in a title called Knack, directed by Mark Cerny and coming from Japan Studio.

A trailer, which resembled an animated movie, showed the robot as "one of the best the planet has to offer" joining a team to save the planet in an upcoming war against the Goblins. The robot appears to have been created for just that purpose, with scenes showing him capable of growing in size and having a pretty mean punch.

Knack will also be available via remote play on the PS Vita.

Cerny, who is also the prime PS4 architect, has worked as a designer on Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and producer on the Crash Bandicoot games.

This could be alright if it's less like Ratchet & Clank and more like Banjo Kazooie.

I'm pretty sure kids want video games, not solitaire and monopoly.
