Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex turning into free-to-play PC game

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is a first person shooter that combines elements from the various Ghost in the Shell series, including SAC 2nd Gig and Solid State Society.
The announcement mentions a "cooperative battle mode" that has the player work in conjunction with AI, but doesn't give details beyond that. Nexon America isn't mentioned by name in the announcement, but it claims to be launching "worldwide" in the first half of 2014.
