Give it time, how long did it take before Win 9x became stable (and I beta tested 95).

I dual boot 98 and 2000 pro at the moment and have 2 machines with 2000 server on. One an upgrade, 1 clean.

Basically, at home I run 98 but in 6 months I will run 2000 I think (and I support NT and backoffice for a living).

The best way of doing this is to clean install, there are too many registry entries to ever do a complete upgrade path these days and the 2000 kernel is still being investigated to see how to get things running well on it.

Just my 2 pennies (I'm English)....

Wow... Maybe this time Liveware W2K won't suck mad donkey dick like the last one.

Liveware for W2K was part of the reason I reverted to Win98. POS.

I've never had any problems with liveware for win2k.. the old school one.. not in diablo2, not in anything.

Copy the music file over to your diablo2 directory.. that's probably your shitty cdrom causing the sound to not play quick enough :P

I don't know what you guys are talking about... I switched back to Win2K after using WinMe for a week or so because I need the stability and networking Win2K has and also because I hate bluescreens. I used Win98SE before that. WinMe is simply a repackaged Win98 with some upgraded looks. It is still Win98. Win2K is the way to go if you have a good-enough system.

I got the new Win2K Liveware drivers last night and played several games... Diablo2 included. Everything ran smooth as butta baby!

I'm sticking with Win2k for a while. If you have enough RAM it's just as good(or better) for gaming as Win98. But you gotta have the RAM... I recommend 256mb if you use Win2k.
