I can't agree more with Andrew regarding Sony handling of its first party titles.
I'm shocked they DID NOT SUPPORT whatsoever the game you mentionned : All Star, Starhawk, Twisted Metal, Sly Cooper... It seems they send those game to die !
That's unacceptable !
We're not talking about crappy game as Call of Duty Black Ops, but pretty good game !
That's a pity because Sony has done a fantastic job this gen to bring the freshest new franchises on the first party front !
And when I see how they treat the Vita, I don't have any high expeactations for the PS4 marketing support.
I'm really worried...

Then looking at just about every other Sony ip aside from Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet and Clank I guess, they've become synonymous with shoddy production values. Almost all their recent titles either have less than cutting edge graphics, cheapo comic book cut scenes, or just a general lack of development around their worlds/fiction. Compare the Twisted Metal of last year to 2001's Black and there's a drastic drop in ambition and finesse.
So I just don't think its about marketing. I just think Sony lacks an editorial eye for content. If they consolidated half their titles into a few really strong ip, they could have avoided this recent torrent of failures. I also think GoW and Ratchet failed to be really inspired entries into their genres the way their past titles were. So yeah, I think in principle a lot of people praise Sony because they seem to give developers a lot of creative freedom, so you get weird stuff like Journey. But in practice, and in the console market, developers need guidance and a bit of cynical market testing to avoid falling on their faces.
