"Our vision is to reinvent the game's aesthetics and interactivity in the same way that Mode7 reinvented strategy gaming with this title," art director Demi Gounari said in the announcement.

Double Eleven COO Mark South teased, "We don't want to give too much away yet, but I will say that Frozen Synapse: Tactics is not simply a transition of the original onto console; we will be giving it a complete Double Eleven makeover."

Frozen Synapse is a squad-based tactical affair, giving you a small squad of men with various weapons to wipe out the other team in a small arena. While it's turn-based, both turns are executed simultaneously, so you need to anticipate your opponent's plan too.

Frozen Synapse: Tactics is due a downloadable release on PlayStation Network later this year. If you missed the original on PC, have a gander at it:

Ooo I hope it comes with more awesome music! The Frozen Synapse + DLC soundtracks are some of my favourite.
