Splinter Cell: Blacklist Collector's Edition includes flying machine
by Steve Watts, Jan 25, 2013 1:00pm PSTAfter Collector's Editions have packed hardware light night-vision goggles and a remote control drone, it should hardly come as a surprise when Splinter Cell: Blacklist announces one with a functional R/C airplane. If only the Wright brothers were alive to see how their most famous work has given way to video game bonuses.
IGN reports that the Splinter Cell: Blacklist "Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition" packages a radio-controlled version of the plane that the Fourth Echelon uses as an aerial base. It can actually fly, presumably to carry out tiny espionage operations.
The CE also comes with an 88-page Splinter Cell Echoes graphic novel, a poster, and a variety of in-game items: the "Billionaire's Yacht" co-op map, "Dead Coast" co-op map, gold sonar goggles, and an upper echelon suit. It will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 alongside the regular editions of the game on August 20, and will cost $169.99. Because if you're going to pay extra for a game, you might as well get a toy you can use to annoy your dog.
