Report: WWE license moving to Take-Two
by Andrew Yoon, Jan 23, 2013 11:00pm PSTOne of THQ's biggest properties was notably absent from today's auction. Rights to the WWE franchise have been sold outside of the formal auction process, according to a new report by IGN. According to the site's sources, the WWE game franchise will be moving to Take-Two Interactive, parent company of 2K Sports.
Kotaku's Owen Good could not verify if Take-Two is the mystery buyer, but an EA Sports spokesman confirmed that it had "no plans to get into WWE business," leaving very few other suitors out there for the property. According to IGN, "official announcements are expected as soon as tomorrow."
