Bohemia developers released on bail from Greek jail
by Steve Watts, Jan 15, 2013 10:00am PSTIvan Buchta and Martin Pezlar, the Bohemia Interactive developers who arrested on charges of espionage in September, have been released on bail. The two are now free to return to their homes in the Czech Republic, after Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras got in contact with Czech PM Petr Necas.
The Help Ivan Martin blog (via Rock Paper Shotgun) provided an English transcript of Czech news sources, which claim that the two have been released on bail of 5,000 Euros each (about $6,600). The story notes that this isn't the end of the case, and it's planned to continue -- but as the two are able to return home, it's hard to say how it will proceed.
The two were charged with espionage for taking photos of military installations. The pair claimed they were simply vacationing in the country and snapping photos of locations they had placed in the video game Arma 3.
