A Mix of News

Here's a bit of a mix of "real world" and gaming news, gotta have something to talk about huh. Diabloii.net has collected a big list of forum posts by Blizzard's Geoff Frazier. Damage Gaming has a list of general tips for the game.
Meanwhile, the US still can't get their anti-missile system to work as it failed to destroy it's target for the second time (thanks Rosewood). If you haven't heard about this before, the US is trying to create a system that can protect all its 50 states from a foreign missile attack.

If you were wondering about the Evil Dead game, there's a FAQ page on the site now that may answer questions you have about the game. If Rogue Spear/Rainbox Six is more your thing, Rogue Spear Retreat is reporting that Covert Ops Essentials will be out August 29. COE is the next in the series and will be available as a standalone product.
Oh yeah, Canadian men are into lipstick. Or so it would appear at first.

  • Quag, my friend, you are precisely the reason we do NOT need another Bush in the White House. I do not mean that in an insulting way; you seem intelligent, well-informed, and confident in your convictions. However, being both a citizen of the US (I'm voting Gore this November)and of Canada, your views (and the views of conservatives like you) will only encourage Bush and his xenophobia to destroy all the brilliant foreign policy work Clinton has achieved in his tenure as president.

I don't want this continent (and probably this planet) blown away by a nuclear holocaust. Every foreign affairs faux-pas, every step towards another arms race brings this country, this continent, this planet closer to total oblivion.

Do you know how close we came last time, during the Cuban Missile Crisis? This new missile defense system does similar things. The more the Chinese and Koreans and Russians worry about why the US is gearing up their nuclear defenses, the more they'll wonder why, and the more they'll safeguard themselves.

And how protective will this missile defense system be if those countries fire an armada of missles. Do you know that Russia has somewhere on the order of 30000 nuclear warheads? How many silos, how many ICBMs could they get launched at the same time? The US wouldn't be safe. As for your concept of uncertainty, those "rogue nations" would simply fire two or three or ten times more ICBMs. The easiest way to reduce uncertainty is to increase the controllable quantity by an order of magnitude, and another, and another, until the uncertainty lessens or disappears.

Anyway, I'm no good at writing attacks; I'm much better at responding to them. So, if you happen by, and you'd like to argue my points, I'd be happy to retort.

    Have a good one.
