Garnett Lee, Jeff Cannata, and "Indie" Jeff Mattas are joined by Nikole Zivalich this week to talk about games like Dishonored and the brilliant new indie title, Hundreds. Much of this episode's discussion centers around predictions for the future of gaming, including possible next-steps for gaming hardware and peripherals, as well as what sort of changes might help reinvigorate the MMO genre in the coming years. My Shepherd reacted as I would in the situation he was in - skeptical and aggressive with people he didn't know/trust, totally loyal and supportive to crew mates and friends. I didn't think long and hard over every decision, because the answer always seemed obvious to me.
The problem is, that playstyle FUCKED YOU OVER, because Bioware for some moronic reason decided to tie in-game abilities and conversation choices to playstyles that read like hilarious characters.
I'm not ashamed to say that for my second play-through, I tampered the HELL out of that save-file to ensure that I had EVERY conversation choice available to me. If you want me to role-play, then don't funnel me down your bullshit white-hat, black-hat paths.

From my perspective it seems like a silly complaint because it literally never happened to me. Sometimes I'd have the paragon option available and other times I'd have the renegade. I think that had the system not been color-coded, it wouldn't be nearly as big an issue. I wish I could see how my playing differs from those that have problems so I could actually make sense of it.
That whole The Walking Dead/Mass Effect conversation was generally a pain to listen to because, other than the time limit on your responses, The Walking Dead is incredibly similar to Mass Effect. They both give you the illusion that it's your story, but it's just your story along their lines. For example: Lilly is always going to leave before you take the train in The Walking Dead and the leader of Clan Urdnot will always be friendly to you whether or not Wrex survives Virmire.
End of my rant. Hahaha.
