An image of Elizabeth with Songbird came in second, with 26 percent of the vote. Unfortunately, even this alternate cover can't appease the masses. "Can I just get a copy of the game that doesn’t come with any cover?" one fan boldly complained. BioShock Infinite will be available with both covers on March 26.

Lol @ that one comment. Doesn't get much more stupid. Nice alternative cover though.

I was going to say the answer to that comment is "you can buy it digitally online", but 2K hasn't yet announced what services, if any, will carry the game.

        Hopefully Steamworks.

It'll be using Steamworks for the DRM, so I imagine that means a full Steam release is in the cards.

...how the hell did this not make frontpage news on the Shack?! Actually, I think I know why: it's a tweet from Ken Levine, not an official acknowledgement from the publisher.

              Also, because it's kinda assumed?

I wouldn't have assumed that Bioshock Infinite would be Steamworks. Sure, now that GFWL is almost irrelevant in the PC space, with Microsoft effectively not marketing it anymore ("XBox Games for Windows" is really just "WinRT games for Windows 8", and has no association with GFWL, other than it also using your XBox Live gamertag / Microsoft Account for authentication). Even then, I wasn't assuming Steamworks. Maybe I'm jaded, but I still have vivid memories of scratching off Bioshock 2 and Bulletstorm from my buy list due to GFWL.

Did you really have that many issues with GFWL? I own quite a few GFWL games, and none have had issues because of the client. Toy soldiers has had issues but that's because of the game. (even then it was only a minor annoyance)

What is the Songbird? Is it like a flying big daddy?

It wasn't my favorite box art, but I voted for it nonetheless because of it's sheer boldness. It reminds me of a prog-rock album cover.

Isn't it stupid that we're even making such a big deal about the cover? I think fan backlash has been appropriate sometimes but the "ire" of fans has gotten to the point that it's ridiculous.

I like it, looks really good.

It's nice to have a boxart that's not a marketing picture of the main characters facing forward in front of a backdrop.

Honestly I think all boxarts should have reverseable alternative covers with something like this.
