Family Guy Online ends in January
by Andrew Yoon, Dec 27, 2012 1:15pm PSTIt appears FOX's attempt to turn Family Guy into an online MMO wasn't the success it had hoped. Launched in open beta earlier this year, the self-described "MMLOL" was a free-to-play browser-based massively multiplayer game set in Quahog. Apparently, it didn't win over a significant fan base, as the online game is being shut down on January 18th.
In addition, any real-money purchases made within Family Guy Online since October 22 will be refunded. The official site notes that "once the game is closed on January 18, 2013, you will no longer be able to access your Family Guy Online account or your Family Guy Online profile." So, be prepared to say goodbye to forever. If you want to see how the game looked back in July, we recommend perusing through this Massively write-up.
