Weekend Confirmed 144 - Holiday Special Part 1 - 2012 retrospective

A cavalcade of special guests joins Garnett, Jeff Cannata, and "Indie" Jeff Mattas, including Shacknews' Andrew Yoon, James Stevenson from Insomniac, Jason Paul from Naughty Dog, Andrea Rene from Machinima, and comedian Christian Spicer. Compare it to last year where you had Portal 2, Skryim, Bastion, Batman, Legend of Zelda, and Uncharted; maybe Deus Ex and Dark Souls depending on where you fell on them. I think Portal 2 and Skyrim were far and away the best. However, if you put them in the mix with this year's games, could you say the same thing? I think you can't.
To me, 2012 was a surprising year and not a disappointing one. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this year was at least as good, if not a little better, than the last.

It seems like people's disappointment with the big releases is somehow leading them to think the other games are not nearly as great, when in reality they have absolutely nothing to do with one another.
