Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer shows off Hadley's Hope

A short trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines shows off how Gearbox recreated the doomed colony Hadley's Hope for the game.

Much of the marketing for Aliens: Colonial Marines has banked on nostalgia for the franchise, like Powerloader figurine and marines skins serving as pre-order bonuses. The game takes place in many of the same settings, so it only makes sense for Sega to showcase one of the more iconic sets of the film Aliens: Hadley's Hope.

The ironically named colony was destroyed by a xenomorph invasion, and a short trailer from Gearbox gives us a look at how the studio interpreted the locale from concept art to a final render. The game is due out February 12.

Agreed, a 56 second video of which 35+ seconds were "splash screens" and the rest was a random collection of concept art and still frame renders .

Fairly excited for this game but that video was a huge letdown.

I honestly can't wait. Gearbox has some good faith for Borderlands 2

Yeah, this one has dropped rapidly OFF the radar for myself (and several of my videogaming friends). The Aliens don't look or move all that right and everything else just seems kinda meh.

Might pick it up a couple years down the road in some crazy STEAM sale, though...

Bishop : This area's gonna be a cloud of vapour the size of Nebraska

If that's so, how the hell are they pitching this? Hadleys Hope and the whole area were destroyed in Aliens. Like totally obliterated.

I came for the Aliens theme, but I'll stay for the campaign co-op - that's the key selling point on this for me.

I want this more than life itself. The acid from the Xenomorphs will help burn away the sour of AVP 2010. I want to know fear again...
