by Steve Gibson, Jul 07, 2000 11:01am PDTSince it is Friday, we're just about all looking towards the weekend yes? What kind of world will you be spending the weekend in though? Just look at this stuff below, makes you wanna stay home and play Counter-Strike for 18hrs at a time:
- Some cop shot 3 people in a dispute over a $1.50 water bill (!) - Some dude married one lady, thinking it was another. (He married a daughter on... accident?!) - Hey look, rocket boots! Ok this one makes me wanna go outside, I fucked up the theme - Lastly, it looks like Spawn comics are running into some real trouble with a lawsuit.Well, I had 2 stories that made you not want to go outside. Thats enough for a theme I think.

Have you guys ever thought of inventing something really cool, but you just dismiss cause (pick a number of reasons). Then like 2 years later, some dude invents it out of the thin blue sky, and makes some cash.
That ever happened to any of you? It's annoying.

The St. Louis Circuit Court jury Wednesday agreed with Twist and awarded him the money. A marketing consultant who testified during the trial had suggested that Twist could be entitled to as much as 20 percent of all Spawn revenues of about $120 million.
McFarlane, of Phoenix, said he would appeal. Otherwise, he said, the award could put him out of business.
"This sets an important precendent," the bloodsucking lawyers said. "If you're pathetic enough to sue, and ANYONE uses a derivation of part of YOUR name, and you've got enough money to sway a jury with good liars, you can steal even more! Thank dumbass juries."

Did the woman and her daughter set this guy up? It certainly sounds like that. That's pretty damn low.
I personally can't think of any other way. And since they're both sueing him, I think it's a safe bet the mother didn't feel very deeply for him in the first place.
