about the evil RAMBUS, since it runs so hot it has to remain in a sleep state at all times, i thought I read somewhere that even though that there is a bandwith increase, there is still a hit you get from having to 'wake up' when you want to access the memmory...

yay ddr sdram... boo rambus...

You know, the government pokes it's nose into all sorts of shit it shouldn't, where is it on this issue? What Intel and Rambus are trying to do is plain WRONG. Forcing an inferior, overpriced technology down consumer's throat's because they have the power (due to market share)to do it is bound to break some antitrust law somewhere.

See I wouldn't have a problem with Rambus if it weren't so damned expensive, if the data path weren't 16bit wide, and if it didn't get so damned hot.

If they lower the cost, expand the data path to at least 64bit, and find a way to eliminate the heat problems (heatsinks on memory? yeesh), then I'll be interested... Oh wait, it's here already and it's called DDR Memory.. Nevermind.. ;-)
