Street Fighter X Mega Man is a classic Mega Man platformer, with all those jumpy and shooty bits, with Street Fighter characters as bosses. MM will beat them up, steal their powers, and use them to beat up more Street Fighters.

The game's made by Seow 'Sonic' Zong Hui with music from A_Rival, and a kindly watchful eye from Capcom.

It's part of Capcom's festivities for the 25th anniversary of Mega Man's debut, which will include re-releasing Mega Man 1-6 one by one for download on Nintendo 3DS starting next week.

Capcom's servers are bogged down, but try to download the game from there if you can. Some of the community managers mentioned that they plan to use the download statistics as leverage in negotiations with Capcom execs to get a secret project off the ground. The more downloads, the better.

Not the best Mega Man game I've ever played but it's pretty decent for a fan made game.

Some glitches and some bad slow down though, the music is also atrocious, especially for a Mega Man game. It's just bad street fighter chiptunes with poorly edited snippets of old Mega Man tracks edited in...

Boss HP is way to high for the amount of damage you dish out, and the fact they don't drop power ups in the capsule chambers makes the game nearly impossible to beat. This is probably the only Mega Man game that wasn't a walk in the park for me.. I guess that can be a good thing but in this case it just seems like bad design.

On a positive note, it does have some interesting weapons and does some pretty neat things like a chase level with Balrog.

When you are outside of the boss chambers you can shoot the two orbs that are just above the hands to get health and weapon power. Yes, the orbs that look like a part of the background, and that NO PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD SHOOT! I spent about an hour getting more and more infuriated with the boss rush before I figured that out. It was an incredibly stupid design decision to do something so easy for the player to miss like that.

Thanks! That's good to know, yeah that's a very odd change to make...I would have never considered shooting those either. That should help me get through it though.

The stage designs are pretty solid and fun and so are the bosses.

The default control scheme is really questionable.
I may be alone in this but I use WASD only for traversing a 3D space. When I am back to 2d space in platformers I revert back to arrow keys... UNLESS the secondary action controller is the mouse.

But even then the keys are remappable. That's not a problem. The big problem is ESC closes the entire damn game no matter where you are. PC users use ESC as their equivalent to the B button and Open menu button.

The ESC button issue pisses me off to no end. At least give me a "Are you sure you want to quit" dialog.
