Assassin's Creed 3 is 'fastest selling' Ubisoft game
by Steve Watts, Dec 12, 2012 3:45pm PSTAssassin's Creed is one of the surest bets in Ubisoft's catalog, and adding the backdrop of the American Revolution must have been a no-brainer. Despite critical enthusiasm dipping over the last two games, Assassin's Creed 3 has become the fastest-selling game in the Ubisoft's history. The company announced today that it had reached 7 million sales after one month on shelves.
This is according to Ubisoft's worldwide estimates, which also recorded roughly 3.5 million in its first week. Ubi also estimates that in the story campaign, players have put in 82 centuries of game time, and performed 3 billion assassinations. That's almost half the world's population getting virtual stab wounds in the neck. The multiplayer has gotten twice as many players as Revelations, racking up 250 million assassinations among 5 billion multiplayer sessions.
Recently the Hidden Secrets DLC pack launched, but had the adverse effect of assassinating some save games in the process.
