The Walking Dead, Borderlands 2, Journey big winners at 2012 VGAs

We run down the winners of the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards.

The Walking Dead was the big winner at the 2012 VGAs tonight, taking home five awards for Game of the Year, Best Downloadable Game, Best Performance by a Human Female for Clementine, Best Adapted Video Game, and Best Studio for developer Telltale Games. Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2 took home Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer, Best Performance by a Human Male for Handsome Jack, and the fan-voted Character of the Year for Claptrap. Journey took home three awards for developer thatgamecompany, including Best PS3 Game, Best Original Score and Best Independent Game.

      Congrats to Tell Tale for GotY... but best studio? Come on... I think Firaxis has them beat there. They took one of the most beloved PC games of all time and somehow lived up to the hype and the nostalgia with XCOM: Enemy Unknown!

        Yeah, The VGAs are getting better at picking winners. This year they seemed to have a clue. In years past, it seemed they just picked games at random ...

      If my save game hadn't spontaneously deleted itself at the start of episode 4, I might be on-board with all the praise The Walking Dead is receiving.
