Path of Exile delays open beta to January

Grinding Gear Games has announced that the Path of Exile open beta will be delayed to January 23, 2013, due to concerns of launching over the holidays when the studio will be out for vacation.

Despite a previous December target, Grinding Gear Games has announced that Path of Exile's open beta will be delayed until January. The team noted that it could potentially launch this year, but it would be so close to the holidays that most of the studio wouldn't be around to oversee the operations.

"A few months ago, we estimated that we would enter Open Beta in December 2012," a note on the forum reads (via Eurogamer). "Although we believe that we can have the build ready by then, we've decided that it's too dangerous to launch the Open Beta over the Christmas period and Southern Hemisphere summer holidays when many of our staff will be away. We have therefore decided to enter Open Beta on January 23, 2013, US time."

Two free keys for your entertainment.

I bought the $50 support pack back in April, and never gave away my two bonus access keys because all my friends got into the beta via the key lottery or by buying a single key before I bought my pack. I only really bought the pack to kick in money in support of the game and the developers.

Below are my bonus keys for you guys, first come first serve. Please reply if you snag one so people know which one is gone.

My group is currently waiting for Act 3 to drop (same day as it goes open beta) so we can play it again, but we definitely beat Act 1 & 2 several times. I highly suggest playing this with friends rather than solo, although solo gets pretty intense by the middle and end of Act 1. Enjoy.
