Blizzard registers Project Blackstone domain

Blizzard has never been the most forthcoming company when it comes to details about games early in development. But certain things do have to be made public, and that is how we find that it has registered a new domain for something called Project Blackstone. Let the speculation commence.

Fusible found the new domain listing, which was grabbed this week. But as of now, not even a placeholder exists for the domain. This comes on the heels of Blizzard registering Warcraftbattles.com in October, and going to arbitration to try to obtain Heroesofwarcraft.com from an individual instead of paying for it.

We know that Blizzard is working on Titan, but it is anybody's guess what these domain grabs could be leading up to.

Here's the Wikipedia Page for BLACKTHORNE.

I recommend you Ctrl + F "stone"... it comes up a few times in the Plot part of the entry. I think this could be a reboot of sorts in the Blackthorne universe afterall. (fingers crossed)

A new 2D Blackthorne game would be the first Blizzard game I've cared about since War2 (and slightly Diablo2).

Do I need to put a disclaimer on the story that it is not to be confused with the SNES game from 1994 or the GBA port in 2003 called Blackthorne (although anything is possible, I guess) ...

Yes. I got confused. I'm definitely about as stupid as your average visitor, at worst.

Maybe, although Blizzard does not own mistsofpandaria.com or .net

Probably it would be something related to the Diablo 3 expansion, because of the black stone seen in D3.

Although Blizzard games seem to not actually appeal to me much anymore, checking out the pre-release build-up and watching their development process is always pretty fun!
