Syberia 3 in development for 2014-2015 release
by Jeff Mattas, Nov 28, 2012 1:45pm PSTAdventure game fans have another reason to be excited, though the payoff for said excitement is a couple of years away. It appears as though the steampunk adventures of lawyer Kate Walker will continue. French publisher Anuman Interactive has announced today that the third chapter in its adventure series--Syberia 3--is in the works. Though not expected to release until 2014 or 2015, the game is being developed by Microids, and is enlisting the talents of Benoît Sokal, the writer of the first two installments.
Polygon notes that Syberia 3 was originally announced back in 2010, fairly soon after Anuman Interactive acquired Microids.
Microids founder, Elliot Grassiano, will oversee development of the title. ""After two long years of waiting for the fans, with Benoit writing the script and Elliot joining our team, [Syberia 3] has truly entered its production phase," Anuman general manager Stéphane Longeard said in a press release.
The previous two Syberia titles (like Syberia 2, shown above) were initially released for PC, but eventually made their way to the original Xbox and PlayStation 2. Syberia 3 will appear on multiple (undisclosed) platforms when it releases sometime in 2014 or 2015.
