Wii Mini coming for $100, but only in Canada
by John Keefer, Nov 27, 2012 7:40am PSTThe new Wii U is still a big thing, but that hasn't stopped Nintendo from announcing the release of a revamped Wii Mini for the holiday season. It will be available December 7 for only $99.99, but there is no Internet connectivity, and it's exclusive to Canada.
The Mini will play more than 1,400 disc-based Wii games, including Super Smash Bros Brawl, New Super Mario Bros and Wii Fit Plus, but it is not compatible with GameCube games. The black and red system is much smaller and designed to sit flat. It comes with a Wii Remote Plus and a standard nunchuck controller.
Nintendo offered no word on whether the console will be available in the United States at a later time, so if you want it for the holidays, be prepared to make a run to the northern border to grab one.
