A "Doom Classic Complete" set is set to hit PlayStation Network today, which includes Doom, Doom 2, and Final Doom. In other words: lots of Doom.

It's the season of heavy holiday hitters for the games industry, but if you're more of a classic connoisseur you might prefer strolls down memory lane. To that end, a "Doom Classic Complete" set is hitting the PlayStation Network today, and it packs three of the hell-heavy titles together.

As detailed on the BethBlog, the set will cost $14.99 and will include Doom (with "Thy Flesh Consumed"), Doom 2 (with "No Rest for the Living" and "The Master Levels"), and Final Doom.

Since Bethesda Softworks bought id Software, the publisher has been keen on making use of its old franchises. This will be the second Doom in just over a month, after the recent release of Doom 3 BFG Edition.

I'm curious is this the type of game you can play on the vita? Are all PSN games like that?

Pretty sure you can play PS1 games on PSP and Vita, but someone might want to confirm.

          This isn't a PS1 re-release, this is a new release.

This article is about the games they used to make. Also I disagree.

They haven't for a long time. My usual response when iD comes out with a new game is "I can't wait to see what someone else does with the engine."

15 fucking dollars? I think we all love Doom but it's come to basically every platform ever. They need to stop with pricing like that and accept if they want people to buy it again, make it reasonable.

That should be like 7$ at most.
      I bet it's 20$ in Australia too :/

        I'd even say $5.
I (re-)bought that exact same collection on PC years ago for $9.99.

No way it should be more than that now.

That high price just scares people off, it's silly.

I just did some reading on the doom wiki, the changes to Doom 1 and 2 are FUCKED

Removal of the International Red Cross symbol on medpacks and berserker packs (the Red Cross have been complaining about what they regard as the abuse of this symbol in games). Instead, the pickups bear a red and white medicine capsule.
Removal of all Nazi references, including the Swastika, Hitler's portrait, furniture and textures

Map 'Wolfenstein' (map31) and map "Grosse" (map32) have been renamed to "IDKFA" and "Keen" respectively
Changed unit ID's in maps 31 and 32
        Changed textures in map 31
Changed music in maps 31 and 32

        All cheats have been removed.
The "fast monsters" parameter has been modified in the Nightmare skill level. Monsters remain just as aggressive, but neither demons nor enemy projectiles travel at increased speed compared to the lower skill levels.
The Tower of Babel is no longer shown being progressively built on the intermission screen.
