The holidays are upon us, and with them comes the day of mad retail frenzy known as "Black Friday." It's a golden opportunity to buy cheap presents, treat yourself to some games you may have missed, and experience the thrill of nearly being stabbed by a soccer mom. Since we want you to have your best shot at saving a few fins, we've compiled a handy list of deals from various retailers.

Console sales are sorted by price, and software is sorted alphabetically. Some stores are opening as early as Thursday evening, so check your local area to make sure you don't miss the trampling. We've highlighted a few of the deals that stood out to us near the top.

Highlighted Deals

• We've listed Amazon's Black Friday prices, but it has discounts running all week. Just keep in mind that many of its deals are time-based.

• New Super Mario Bros Wii U is free with $40 worth of merchandise at Old Navy, but quantities are limited.

• Skylanders Giants is going for $38.96 at Wal-Mart, almost half the standard price. Remember that Wal-Mart opens on Thursday night, so you'll probably have to skip the turkey leftovers.

• Super Mario 3D Land is included in this year's 3DS bundles, but keep in mind that it comes pre-installed, so you won't be able to sell back a cartridge.

• Toys R Us is holding a Buy 1, Get 1 for $1 sale on a wide variety of games.
