Mortal Kombat film to cost $40-50 million
by Steve Watts, Nov 07, 2012 1:00pm PSTThe Mortal Kombat movie teased last year will have a budget of approximately $40-50 million, according to studio sources. Warner Bros has now officially talked about the reboot, along with the return of Mortal Kombat Legacy director Kevin Tancharoen to helm the movie.
WB's Lance Sloan confirmed the film to Web Series Network (via CVG). "We're preparing right now for the Mortal Kombat film with Kevin Tancharoen, [who] directed the digital series for us," he said. "He's at the helm of the forty, fifty million dollar film." Rumors have stated that it will follow a supermarket employee who discovers his powers.
