Ubisoft uses Watch Dogs trailer to recruit dev team

A new Ubisoft video uses Watch Dogs footage as part of its pitch to recruit new developers for the game.

Ubisoft is beefing up its Watch Dogs development team, and is using the impressive E3 look at the game as part of its recruitment efforts. A new video splices pieces of the well-regarded walkthrough with testimonials from Ubisoft staff, who talk up what a swell job it is.

The video doesn't show any new footage of Watch Dogs, but it's a sure sign that Ubisoft is kicking up its development efforts as we approach the new calendar year. Plus, given the string of recent layoffs that we've seen hitting the games industry over the last few weeks, now is probably a good time to pick up some displaced talent.

Actually Ubisoft rarely lets people go after their games ship because of the funding they get from the government. I sat in a room surfing the internet for a couple months on their dime because of it, it's like unemployment where you can't hangout in your pajamas all day.

Ubisoft is a cool company, but they don't pay enough to the average employee compared to the rest of the industry, reason why all development moved to Montreal, provincial funding + low wages.
