FIFA 13 sells 7.4 million units, is biggest sports launch of all time
by Andrew Yoon, Oct 30, 2012 2:00pm PDTFIFA Soccer 13 is now "the biggest sports launch of all-time," Electronic Arts has revealed, with 7.4 million copies sold through within its first four weeks of release. (4.5 million of those copies in the first five days!)
Not only is FIFA making EA tons of money at retail, its digital business is expanding as well. Digital net revenue was $115 million for the first half of fiscal 13, which includes FIFA Online 2 and FIFA World Class Soccer that contributed over $50 million to EA's bottom line. This chart, specifically, should make EA's investors quite happy:
