Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 live-action trailer is daft

Live-action trailers are, of course, silly pieces of marketing intended even more than regular trailers to sell a perception and brand rather than an actual game. With that in mind, look, let's watch the new live-action trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, because it is just so weird and awkward and kind of unpleasant. But, on the bright side, you may recognise people in it from movies or YouTube.

The trailer is, of course, continuing the 'famous people do video game stuff' thread started with the original Black Ops and used for Modern Warfare 3 too. You may scoff and scorn and wish they'd release a half-hour gameplay walkthrough trailer, but this will undoubtedly capture imaginations and help Activision shift copies of the near-future FPS.

Cod Blops 2 will deploy to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 13, hitting Wii U a week later when Nintendo's shiny new console launches. Come now, watch:

These must do well for the mass market , otherwise they wouldn't have made them 3 years in a row. If only they were indicative of the ACTUAL COD multiplayer experience complete with sikk 360 quik-scopez, grenade spam, aimbots, people on voice chat swearing and using slurs, people yelling at their team to shoot down the ac-130 and being ignored.

Ugh. Also, if that was supposed to be accurate, they needed about 50 times the explosions going off, teabagging, ten year olds running around screaming, etc.

What is the pre-order game with this purchase? Nuketown 2025 map for all preorders or are there different options for different stores/systems?

That video was awesome. Sometimes I feel like you just hate fun, Alice. Why not just enjoy it as a piece of entertainment?

It's not like it's dishonest advertising or anything. It reminded me a lot of that extremely highly respected PS3 commercial where all of the different characters meet in a bar.

No accounting for taste I suppose. I am a fan of multiple actors in the video and it was fun seeing them do a cheesy promo. I liked it more than most other live action trailers I've seen, and I'm not even a big fan of the CoD series.
