The game mechanics are solid. I've never had so much control over a character in an RE game as I do in RE6. I'd go so far as to say the controls and raw mechanics are far and away better than Gears of War, the latter of which is actually incredibly simplistic. The vast majority of those games is either hiding behind cover, or running to cover. Resident Evil 6 feels far more organic by comparison. I'm constantly on the move shooting enemies, repositioning, targeting specific locations of the body to nail melee grab attacks, etc.
