To the Mouse and Keyboard point, I think it is a generational thing. At 35 y/o, I still love my Mouse and keyboard over a controller any day. BF3? Fantastic with a mouse and keyboard, couldn't stand playing that with a controller. Put any fast paced shooter on there for that matter, CoD, TF2, L4D, even those of us who play Quake Live (Yes G, Quake is still alive!).
I think there are still a ton of mouse and keyboard players out there, but have gotten older and quit the internet arguments that have gone on for the last decade and a half. Not to mention, I believe most PC Gamers play on consoles too, not looking at it as a this vs. that kinda thing like it was in years past.

As a consumer, that doesn't matter a bit, you'll just gravitate to what you're comfortable with. But I'm a little uncomfortable with reviewers who aren't fluent with the input that defines the experience.
