  The golden chest is a poor system. Users get powerful weaponry for no in-game effort at all. It's a petty advertising campaign that cheapens the very root formula of the game. Borderlands is about finding cool gear and kicking ass with it. To me, using the chest is the same as having someone just give you high level weapons for nothing or glitching your way to farming a boss. Do it if you like it, but I can't respect your accomplishments. You didn't accomplish anything really.
