Former Ubisoft vets who have worked on games including Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Prince of Persia have formed a new indie team: Red Barrels. The developer's first game is a survival horror title set in an asylum in the mountains of Colorado. As a journalist, players are tasked with finding out the truth about the facility.
"Our team has a lot of previous experience creating big, blockbuster games," said co-founder David Chateauneuf. "We're all really excited to see what kind of fear-based emotional rollercoaster we can build on our own!"
Outlast is expected to come out on PC some time next year.
