Halloween inches closer with the end of today. Two weeks tomorrow! I don't ever get dressed up, or go out for that matter, but there are a few yearly rituals that make this time of year for me. First up? Figuring out where I put my Garfield's Halloween Adventure DVD. Even at 28, it's the only thing that puts me in the right mood for this time of year. Then, a playthrough of Costume Quest, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Do you have any special Halloween rituals?

  • "Time to complain about XCom. When I first read Mercfox's post the other day I thought he must be off his rocker. Now I understand his frustration. This game has possibly the most broken interplay between LOS, cover, and chance-to-hit mechanics I have ever seen in a TBS game. Even more frustrating because this game constantly rides the edge of being awesome but constantly jars me out of it with facepalm moments." [by Poor Yurik]

  • The War Z alpha client 20121016. "The War Z is an online, multiplayer, survival-simulation game set in an open world infested with zombies. Players are thrust into this post-apocalyptic world five-years after a viral outbreak that ravaged the human population and left, in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportion. Hordes of undead zombies roam the cities, and the few remaining human beings have devolved into a lawless, nomadic society where the sole objective is to survive at any cost. Only players who pre-ordered the Pioneer or Legend packs will be able to access the servers." Download the alpha client for Windows here.
