It's been awhile since developer Tilted Mill has released anything new. The developer of city-building titles such as Caesar, Zeus, Children of the Nile and Pharaoh has announced Medieval Mayor, a new game in the same genre, one that finally takes place out of Egypt.

Set in the Dark Ages, players will build a city with roads, housing and arts & science, with the goal of keeping the city from dissolving into a slum pit or going bankrupt. According to the release, the game will have offer modes "from sandbox play, for a lighter experience, to 'impossible' mode" for players that really want a test.

The game is scheduled for release sometime next year on PC and tablets.

      Wow they still exist!!

I loved Children of the Nile and Hinterland was interesting but they went silent after that. I will be interesting to see how this turns out.

        They didn't go quiet...

        They made Sim City Societies.

Hinterland was after Societies. Last thing they were working on was Nile Online which never really took off to the best of my knowledge.

If they can take it back to basics with a fancy (but not too fancy) graphics I'm already ordering it.

I still enjoy playing Hinterland from time to time, too bad they don't do an overhaul, the game is ageing fast.
