Just in time for the launch of Pokemon Black & White 2, animal activist group PETA has released a parody game called Pokemon Black & Blue.

The organization claims that the animal-on-animal fighting gameplay central to the Pokemon series teaches children the wrong message on how animals should be treated. "The difference between real life and this fictional world full of organized animal fighting is that Pokemon games paint rosy pictures of things that are actually horrible."

In Black & Blue, you play as Pikachu using RPG mechanics taken from the original Game Freak RPG. Instead of fighting other critters, you will use your attacks against your human captors.

Oddly, PETA's campaign echoes the primary plot of the first Pokemon Black & White games, where Team Plasma attempted to liberate Pokemon from trainers. The game's official site says that the organization "supports" Team Plasma. However, in Nintendo's game, the organization's true intent was to actually control all the Pokemon in the world. We're not sure if PETA played through all of the original game it is parodying, so hopefully this publicity stunt isn't an odd admission of a more sinister goal.

Lol! is it bad that I kinda want to see what would happen if Nintendo or Game Freak sue PETA? Well if they could for infringing on their IP or something.

Also I'm not in support of animal abuse or anything but reallly? Go after Pokemon...?

Technically, aren't humans part of the animal kingdom? So all they're really doing is advocating violence against one particular animal species. Ironic, yes?

LOL! Really, the only useful service PETA actually provides the world are these hilariously nonsensical parody games.

Apparantly they're teaching children that violence is the only way to solve animal cruelty.
