Mass Effect 3 Retaliation DLC introduces the Collectors, still free
by Andrew Yoon, Oct 04, 2012 10:00am PDTThe next multiplayer DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 is the largest one yet. And surprisingly, it's still free. Retaliation introduces Mass Effect 2's Collectors as a new enemy faction to fight against. You'll fight against the Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain--as well as Cerberus Dragoon and Geth Drones.
Available on October 9 on Xbox Live, PC, and PlayStation Network, the Retaliation DLC pack adds six "Hazard" versions of existing maps. "Survive the onslaught of Acid, Lightning, Meltdowns, Sandstorms, Swarms, and Whiteouts," EA's press release teases.
In addition, Retaliation adds new unlockable weapons and new class kits to unlock, including the Turian Havoc Solider and Turian Ghost Infiltrator. "Additional class kids will be added as the weeks progress."
Multiplayer will also add a new "Challenges" section, where you'll be able to complete various assignments to unlock titles and banners to display in-game. You'll also be able to compare your progress with friends.
Given it's free, the latest Mass Effect 3 DLC will perfectly compliment the Trilogy pack launching later this year. Be mindful that you'll need the latest patch to get all this stuff to work.
