The next multiplayer DLC pack for Mass Effect 3 is the largest one yet. And surprisingly, it's still free. Retaliation introduces Mass Effect 2's Collectors as a new enemy faction to fight against. You'll fight against the Praetorian, Scion, Abomination, Trooper, and Captain--as well as Cerberus Dragoon and Geth Drones.

Available on October 9 on Xbox Live, PC, and PlayStation Network, the Retaliation DLC pack adds six "Hazard" versions of existing maps. "Survive the onslaught of Acid, Lightning, Meltdowns, Sandstorms, Swarms, and Whiteouts," EA's press release teases.

In addition, Retaliation adds new unlockable weapons and new class kits to unlock, including the Turian Havoc Solider and Turian Ghost Infiltrator. "Additional class kids will be added as the weeks progress."

Multiplayer will also add a new "Challenges" section, where you'll be able to complete various assignments to unlock titles and banners to display in-game. You'll also be able to compare your progress with friends.

Given it's free, the latest Mass Effect 3 DLC will perfectly compliment the Trilogy pack launching later this year. Be mindful that you'll need the latest patch to get all this stuff to work.

More Harbinger content in the MP DLC than in the SP game :)
Least they didn't completely forget about him.

it'd be neat if it was tied to future single player DLC. maybe with the upcoming Omega one.

They're certainly putting more effort to support MP than I expected, but seems like wasted effort. I think I played more than most people, got to N7 level of about 250 but even then I quit long ago.

On the plus side, I think MP really opened the doors for different race traits, new abilities and play styles that will hopefully translate to the new game allowing you to play non-human races as the protagonist.

There is still the Wii version of the game coming out plus the Trilogy is still coming so the effort they put in the multiplayer helps to support three skus and not just the existing Mass Effect fan base.
