EA buys Battlefield app studio
by Steve Watts, Sep 27, 2012 4:00pm PDTEA has snatched up ESN, the developer behind the recent Battlelog app for web and mobile devices. With the new corporate backing, the studio says it will focus its energy on Battlefield, Battlelog, and other projects with fellow Swedish studio DICE.
Gamasutra reports that the terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed. Like Autolog for racing games, Battlelog has become its own brand to be used across various EA properties. It will be used in Medal of Honor: Warfighter this fall. The Battlelog app is free, and keeps track of your friends' activity, leaderboards, and news.
