Netflix for PS3 has iOS and Android integration

The Netflix app now supports a remote control function on the PlayStation 3, much like YouTube on PS3.

Like the PS3 version of YouTube, you'll be able to command your Netflix experience with your mobile phone. So long as your PS3 is connected to the same network as your iOS or Android device, you'll be able transform your phone into a nifty remote control.

According to Engadget, you can browse for another movie or TV show to watch and have it play on-screen. You can also stop, pause, scene-select, change audio and subtitles.

The feature is being referred to as an "easter egg" by many, as it's a feature that's likely to go underutilized. Here's a video on YouTube to see the cross-device magic in action:

Still the best version of Netflix. The 360 netflix app is quite possibly the worst version across all platforms. Don't know why it hasn't been updated yet. It's so fucking backwards.

It really is bad. I actually use the Wii version rather than have to deal with the 360 ver.

Its so bad. I can't wait for my Gold subscription to run out so I have an excuse to buy a new device for streaming.

I guess you haven't used the versions of Netflix that come with smartTVs or bluray players as they are just as bad.

what's weird to me is how Netflix doesn't seem to care much about UI consistency across all these platforms. It's not like there's a particularly good reason for their 360 and PS3 clients to look different considering they didn't actually try to conform to the general UI styles of the 360 anyway.

The PS3 version of Netflix is good, but sadly the Apple TV version is better

I wish their Youtube app didn't suck at buffering. It's really cool looking and I would actually use it but it buffers way too much where every other device I have plays videos without a hitch.

This is on a wired PS3, I'd hate to try it over wireless.

i dont get it. in the time it takes you to hit the home button on your iphone, slide the slider, (type in your unlock code if u have one) then press pause or stop or whatever, itd just be simplier to hit a button on your controller or ps3 remote.

come on you don't have to ask this

I don't keep controllers/remotes on my couch at all times, they end up in random places around the room, I sit down without having grabbed one, it turns off automatically halfway through a show/movie, someone else on the other couch had the controller, etc, etc

ok, but the same could be said about your iphone. it isnt right next to you at all times. my ps3 remote has no other purpose than to control movies. it sits on the coffee table next to the couch. it has no place else to be.
