Mass Effect Trilogy coming November, brings original game to PS3 for the first time
by Steve Watts, Sep 26, 2012 9:00am PDTSome people missed the boat on this whole "Mass Effect" thing, and were forced to watch passively from the sidelines as adulation turned to ending-based scorn. If you'd like to give it a whirl and don't mind being late to the party, you can wait until November 6 when BioWare releases all three games in one box.
BioWare announced the set today, which packages Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 together for $59.99. The PC and Xbox 360 versions of the compilation will be available November 6, while the PlayStation 3 will get it sometime later. The announcement notes that this is the first time PS3 owners will get the chance to play through the original Mass Effect, and it will be available as a stand-alone game through the PlayStation Network as well.
The announcement conspicuously doesn't mention downloadable content, though, so if you want to play extra missions like Mass Effect 2's Overlord or Mass Effect 3's Leviathan, you'll probably need to shell out some extra funds.
BioWare is also attempting to bring back self-imposed game holidays like Mortal Monday with the announcement of "N7 Day," which will take place on November 7. Get it? The company promises in-game, online, and live events to celebrate the occasion.
