Rez creator no longer producing games
by Andrew Yoon, Sep 20, 2012 9:30am PDTQ Entertainment's Tetsuya Mizuguchi, famed producer of Rez, Lumines, and Child of Eden, is no longer making games. Q Entertainment director Nobuhiko Shimizu said that "Mizuguchi does not produce the games," noting that he's now "more of a spokesperson."
Shimizu made it very clear to Eurogamer that "he's not developing stuff right now."
Q Entertainment's last game was Lumines: Electronic Symphony for Vita, a game produced by James Mielke. The last game attached to Mizuguchi's name was Child of Eden, a spiritual successor to Rez that used Kinect and PlayStation Move.
Although Mizuguchi is no longer actively involved in developing games, Q continues to work on new music games. Shimizu added that "we are now thinking about combining music games with card-battle games. We now have several productions to develop that kind of game."
