BioWare working on next 'full game' in Mass Effect series, brand new IP
by Andrew Yoon, Sep 18, 2012 12:26pm PDTBioWare has been upfront that Mass Effect 3 would not be the last game in their successful space RPG series. And apparently, they are already working on the next "full game" in the Mass Effect franchise. But first, BioWare will release more multiplayer content and more single-player stories "throughout the next six months."
"'Where to go next?' with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we'd all love to hear your ideas," BioWare asked on its blog. Wherever BioWare decides to take the franchise, remember to keep your save files from Mass Effect 3.
In addition to a new Mass Effect game, BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn notes that Casey Hudson, producer of the Mass Effect franchise, is also working on an "all new game set in a fictional universe, built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology." That sounds vaguely like something that could be introduced in the next-generation of consoles, doesn't it?
